Last week was good. On Tuesday Natalie and I went to see Yo La Tengo at koko and they were marvellous. My favourite gig of the year so far. Seemingly I will always be an indie boy at heart! Ira Kaplans guitar playing is totally primal! Also went to Slash where I got completly munted on Thursday. Then Peterborough on Friday to see my mum and St Albans Sat where I watched X Factor and enjoyed the perky new Franz Ferdinand single. This week: Got to start planning September at Bardens and looking for a job. Also having a practice with Mike and Jussi in a proper practice room for the first time Thursday, on Old Street. This band is going really well and I love how we're all becoming good friends doing it. Haven't felt so comfortable in a band since old days with Chukka, Adam, etc!!! Jussi wants us to be called 'MOAT', which sounds fine to me. I think we're recording with John hannon next month, so fame obviously beckons!!!

For anyone who doesn't know, Denesh has got the mumps. How queer.

Last night me, Vincent and Rory all went to this club called Airport at the Roxy (sorry Karine, I know we said we ere going to Popluxe - next week we promise!!!), and I got so totally fucked out of my head that even now, at half 1 the next day I've still got a hangover. The best thing all week though was when me and Nat went to see The Organ at Dublin Castle and they were supported by Data Panik who are the new band from Bis!!! It's basically Bis with 2 extra members making a more post punky, rocking sound and they were totally ACE!!!! Sci Fi Steve hasn't lost his edge for writing catchy tunes and they could be really big. So much better than any NME band. Tomorrow going to see that Miranda July film. Lovely.

well disaster struck last night when two filthy pigs stormed Bardens, revealing it to have no entertainment license and shutting it down until Umit gets one. This is going to take about a month and has fucked up the rest of THIS month. We had the Bravery and also Ralphs super cocktail of Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Jamie Lidell, Luke Vibert coming up, but now I got to cancel it all!!! I'm totally gutted and what a shame that nice Ben (Max Tundra) was merely an hour into his night when the fuzz came in and threw us all out!!!

Previous to all this the day had been really amusing and started off with lunch at Stone Cave in the company of Steve, Luke, Aymie, Mike, Dan, Jo, Denesh and Vincent, so it was ace having some old friends down from up North.

I'm really annoyed.
And I'm currently sitting in the net cafe near my house, having been locked out!!!

Well, sadly Chukka is moving out of our unique commune at Millers Terrace, having fallen in love and such things. This leaves myself and Daniel Bolger with the hefty task of finding a new housemate pretty quick. Chuks my even be gone be next weekend, so friends in Live Journal: If you know of anyone who needs amedium sized room in a commercial unit and can cope with people making quite a lot of noise, then let me know ASAP.
Plus of course, you may be exposed to one Denesh Shan on a regular basis. Bear this in mind. Rent is £58 quid a month. The food in Dalston is divine also.

Oh and the new Doctor Who looks kinda cool. He wears white cons now. I may look into being an extra in the new series. Does anyone know how???

I know it's geeky but I was really excited to read a sypnosis of the screenplay that Darren Aronofsky wrote for his version of a new Batman film - Batman: Year One. It got totally blasted by Warners for being too out of context and totally, grusomely violent!! Damn, it really sounds weird and cool. Anyhow, despite hardly bearing any resemblance to the Batman we all know, it certainly would've been some classic, bizarre cinema. There's a link somewhere... er find it yrself!

Well. Last nights gig was a success, it's given me a bit more faith in doing our own shows. Bands were great and lot's of fun. Today I'm really excited cos we're sorting out a tour for the end of September. Due to legal reasons we can't be called Crumbs, so instead have become 'The Swordmaster Speaketh'. It's more prog!!! Anyway, at the mo the tour should go like this...

September...

21st - Brighton - Cleckhuddersfax, Birds of Prey, The Swordmaster Speaketh and Wolfie.
22nd - London - Cleckhuddersfax, Spin Spin the Dogs, Aum Sahib and The Swordmaster Speaketh (and maybe The Sex Act too!!!)
23rd - Leeds - Cleckhuddersfax, Spin Spin the dogs, The Swordmaster Speaketh and The Sex Act (?)
24th - Nottingham - Cleckhuddersfax, Spin Spin the Dogs, Birds of Prey and The Swordmaster Speaketh.

It would seem that My space has been taken over by Rupert Murdoch. Oh dear.

Last night I went to see a musical based on the songs and lyrics of The Smiths. It was actually rather good, if not a little 'abstract'. 'There is a Light That Never Goes out' was rendered beautifully on various cellos and violins. Nice one. Tonight I'm going to Slash for the first time. Apparently Karine is djing. Hilariously I have almost confirmed a secret show by The Bravery at Bardens. I bet they're a fleet of cockheads.
